Air Studies on Electronic Cigarettes After You Buy Them
There seem to always be scientific studies that are being conducted on eCigarettes and the industry in general. Some are being done by supporters of the industry in an effort to show their advantages over traditional smoking while others are done by those who opposed the use of electronic cigarettes and are looking for evidence to support their claims. Either way, these studies are constantly being done and are certain to continue at least into the near future.
An air study done on the eCigarette has shown the differences in the vapor that is released from eCigarettes and smoke that is released from traditional tobacco based products. The study was conducted as a collaborated effort between the National Vapers Club along with the Center for Air Resources Science and Engineering and the Consulting for Health, Air, Nature and A Greener Environment or CHANGE agency.
The study showed that eCigarettes produce very little in the way of vapor or chemical release as opposed to traditional cigarettes. The study goes on to detail that it is not believed that the vapor released from eCigarettes has any harmful consequence when it comes to the environment or those who would incur secondhand smoke issues. Compounds from the vaper were studied to determine what specifically is emitted through this vapor. The study showed no harmful emissions based on the released vapor from an eCigarette.
Secondhand vapor as opposed to secondhand smoke is not apparently an issue. The vapor released from an eCigarette and what is expelled from a vaper dissipates so suddenly that it is not considered an issue whatsoever. In fact, researchers feel that there is actually no such thing as secondhand vapor in regards to others breathing in what is expelled during the vaping process.
In comparison, the secondhand smoke from traditional cigarettes has shown to have an effect on air quality and to those who are breathing in that smoke. Many countries continue to ban the purchase and use of eCigarettes however, even while allowing traditional tobacco products to be sold, purchased and used in public areas. More studies in the future are planned and the Food and Drug Administration is currently conducting studies on these topics as well as it plans for tighter regulations on the eCigarette industry in the future.
So what do the results of the air quality study mean? They mean that for those who are concerned about what comes out of an eCigarette during the vaping process, you can stop worrying. Intensive research has shown that only nicotine, water and propylene glycol or vegetable glycol depending on what is used, come out of the vapor. These ingredients are not considered to be unsafe in the amounts that are included in eCigarette vapor. The vapor dissipates quickly so it is not being breathed in by others and as opposed to traditional cigarettes, the vapor does not leave a smell or residue behind when it vanishes. Many consumers have chosen to buy electronic cigarettes as an alternative to smoking for this and many other reasons.

The news is filled with stories of people supporting the eCigarette industry and those who feel that the FDA certainly should tighten the reins just a bit.
Cigarette ads in general were done away with several years ago. There are no longer any smoking commercials on television and none in magazine ads. Instead of these advertisements supporting tobacco companies, what you see today in the way of advertising are messages that show adverse effects of nicotine and smoking in general. eCigarettes however are a bit different regarding their advertising. There were ads for these products seen during the Super Bowl which is when major corporations really get creative to get consumer attention. This caused a bit of controversy and many feel that because traditional cigarettes cannot be advertised in such a manner, eCigarettes should be banned as well.
If you pay attention to the news at all, you are likely to see a lot of information from both sides of the fence. There are always going to be supporters of products and there are always going to be opposition for those same products. The eCigarette industry is not different and as the FDA tightens regulations there is likely to be more news in the future surrounding this industry.
